 Waggener High SchoolAlumni Chit-ChatMarch 2024  HALL OF FAME It’s that time again, when we solicit the men & women of the Waggener Community to honor them with a place in our Hall of Fame. Please save the date of September 19, 2024 as the Celebration Dinner for our new class of inductees. The celebration will be held at Big Spring Country Club. More information about reservations will follow and will be available on the alumni website.First, we need to get those applications collected. You may nominate someone via the application on the website. Hall of Fame NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN AND ARE DUE ON OR BEFORE APRIL 8! THIS IS A FIRM DEADLINE so don’t delay!!! AROUND OUR ALMA MATER… This time of year, things are really busy for our school! I’m sure you see info about our various sports teams but there is lots more going on!! Check out some of the great things happening! Western Kentucky University is partnering with WHS to help students to have the opportunity to attend college, as many students feel overwhelmed with the whole process. Through the College NoW program, students can earn college credit while still in high school! Check it out WKU & WHS College NoW  In recent days, WHS hosted educators from Mississippi and students from Oldham Co. Our BSU put on an amazing Black History Month Celebration, and our Orchestra collaborated with musicians and composers from the Louisville Orchestra. WHSAA website Waggener High School rolled out the red carpet for students with moderate to severe disabilities (MSD) from across the district today for its MSD Valentine’s Dance! We love the Barbie theme and big smiles ! A big thank you to Elite Events & Entertainment for donating the DJ services and JCPS Transportation for helping get students from 10+ high schools to the dance! #WeAreJCPS  Valentine Dance 2024   From the Treasurer  REUNION TIME! A joint reunion of the Class of ’64 and ’65 is being planned for September 21, 2024 at Owl Creek Country Club. We’re planning heavy appetizers and a cash bar so we can simply visit with our classmates and catch up with each other for what will most likely be our last bash together – and we all know none of us are getting any younger. In addition to the Owl Creek gathering we’re hoping to get a tour of Waggener that weekend to see how our old school has held up over the years.So this is just an early notice to alert you of the date so you can plan ahead. In Memoriam… The WHSAA extends its sympathy to the family and friends of Scott Davis, a longtime and generous supporter of the Alumni Association. Scott died in February and his memorial service is scheduled for April.
