The 2025 Waggener Hall of Fame Inductees were recognized and celebrated at a fabulous event held on Thursday September 18, 2025 at Big Spring Country Club.

Inductee Profiles

Mrs. Anita Hill (teacher, 1960-1988)

Mrs. Hill taught biology, physiology, and anatomy for 28 years at Waggener. She was much loved by all her students, many of whom went on to pursue careers in the medical field due to their interest in the sciences instilled by classes with her.
She taught biology with passion and had high expectations of her students. Her enthusiasm for learning extended beyond her classroom as she served as a faculty sponsor of The Beta Club, National Honor Society, and The Science Fair. She was named Waggener High School Teacher of the Year during her time at Waggener.
Mrs. Hill’s penchant for teaching did not end with her retirement from Waggener in 1988 as she followed up her Waggener career as a volunteer teacher for six years at Christian Academy of Louisville.
To this day, Mrs. Hill is regularly invited as a guest to numerous reunion events by students who were lucky enough to be in her classes.
She was nominated by one of her admiring students, Jay Kinsman, a recently retired physician living in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Margaret J. Sather (teacher, 1962-1967)

Margarette Sather said, “The humanities feed the soul. They enlarge the heart.” We five alumni from the class of 1966 collaborated to nominate our teacher, Margarette Sather, for the Waggener Hall of Fame because of the extraordinary and enduring impact she had on us and other classmates.
Her Humanities course covered art, music, philosophy, and religion. In addition to classroom work, she required her students to attend concerts, opera, ballet and live theater.
Thanks at least in part to this exposure, all five of us have continued to patronize or participate in the arts throughout our adult lives. Some of us are Louisville Orchestra subscribers. Some regularly attend local theater productions, and one of us was president of Louisville Bunbury Theatre for seven years. Some of us went on to take art history courses in college and still visit art museums and exhibits. Two of us are active
musicians. She inspired one of us to major in philosophy. And two of us — plus several other of her students that we’re aware of — were introduced to Buddhism in her class and ended up following a Buddhist path.
In all these ways, Margarette Sather influenced and enriched our lives forever, decades beyond graduation.
We don’t recall her ever mentioning it in the classroom, but from our research for this nomination we learned that she was active in civil rights work. She knew Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And she participated in the “Bloody Sunday” march that attempted to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma AL, a pivotal incident in civil rights history that happened six months before we entered her class. This alone arguably qualifies Margarette Sather for Waggener’s Hall of Fame.

Martha Robertson Puckett (1963)

Martha Robertson Puckett was very active in a wide variety of student
activities and sports during her six years at Waggener. She was instrumental in establishing the Girls’ State Swimming Meet in 1962. She was voted most athletic her senior year. Her warm, inclusive, welcoming personality was apparent to all of her classmates.

Martha’s school spirit has continued in her 62 years since graduation.
She has worked tirelessly on the Class of ’63 reunions. Under her leadership, the Class of ’63 has held reunions every ten years until their fortieth and then every five years since then. The reunions have raised money for the Waggener High School Food Den.

Martha received the Belfore Art Award her senior year and continued her love of art throughout her life. Clay has been her passion. Her work has been featured in numerous books, publications and collections throughout the world.

After retiring from teaching, Martha continued her commitment to community service by transporting bone marrow and stem cells throughout the United States and internationally. Martha epitomizes a successful Waggener Alumni. Her student years, community service years as a teacher, while raising her two children, David and Mindy, and pursuing her ongoing career as an artisan, are a credit to Waggener.

David Tachau (1973)

While at Waggener, David participated in many activities, as a member of the Soccer Team for four years, the Math Team, the Chit Chat staff, Student Council, and Quill and Scroll, to name a few. He was the State Debate Champion in his Junior Year, and he was a National Merit Finalist.
David received his AB degree from Harvard University and his JD degree from The University of Michigan. After spending eleven years and becoming a partner at Brown Todd and Heyburn, he formed his own firm in 1995, currently Tachau Meek.
A pillar of our community, David has served on the Kentucky Board of Education, Chaired Teach Kentucky and most recently chaired the Community Foundation of Louisville.
David was nominated by David Spalding.

Greg Seneff (1977)

Music, faith, and helping people are Greg Seneff’s guiding principles.
During his time at Waggener, he was in the Choir, a teacher’s aide, backstage at Vaudeville (likely the sound system), Boy Scouts, Louisville Thoroughbreds, St. Matthews Youth Choir, even several garage bands, as well as an active church member.
Continuing to Kentucky Wesleyan and then University of Louisville Law School, Greg’s blending of faith, communications, music, and law matured and formalized. Through the Seneff Law Office, Greg advises and handles legal matters for a list of musical venues, associations, events, and labels that would fill a book.
In addition, Greg founded and manages the Waggener Memorial Facebook page and is active in organizing and communications for the Class of 1977.
