Foster “Les” Snyder, 81, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025. He was born in Owensboro, KY on October 26, 1943 to parents Foster Leslie and Martha Igleheart Snyder.
Les graduated from Waggener High School where he excelled in football. He was inducted into the Waggener High School Hall of Fame for football. He received a football scholarship to Wake Forest University playing along side the late Brian Piccolo.

Les and his wife were longtime tobacco and produce growers mainly in Oldham County. He received the Master Conservationist Award from three different counties and was named “A Friend of the Land”. Les was an outstanding member of AA and received the Matthew Talbot award. He was a member of St. Michael Orthodox Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Snyder Hartley. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Pamela Gabriel Snyder; two daughters, Monica Helsley (Dave) and Serena Michels (Matt Hanlon); and three grandchildren, Ashley Michels, Clayton and Martha Helsley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, the thirteenth of June beginning at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. The visitation and service will be held at St. Michael Orthodox Church, 3701 St. Michael Church Drive. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Michael Orthodox Church or to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
