Bob(by) Hardesty (’78)

Robert (Bob) Gerard Hardesty, 65, Passed away on May 27, 2025 at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville.

Bob was born in Louisville, the sixth of eight siblings to the late JD Hardesty Jr. and Adrienne George Hardesty. He lived his whole life in Louisville. He attended Waggener High School and the University of Louisville. He began his career in carpentry at about 18 years old working for his older brother Kevin in the remodeling business.

His artistic skills were apparent even in high school where he made many beautiful drawings and photographs of family and his time in nature. He was an avid camper, outdoorsman and fisherman all his life.

In 1989 he started his own business designing and building interior trim, built-in bookcases, stairways, and decks in new houses and quickly became one of the premier trim companies in Louisville.

Also, in 1989 he married Lauren Riney and started his family, having two sons, Rob and Tim.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Tim. He is survived by his son Rob, daughter-in-law Emma and ex-wife Lauren, his siblings, Joe, Kevin (Debbie), Maury, Jack, Sue, Mimi/Adrienne and George; and by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held, to celebrate Bob’s life, on Sunday, July 13th at The Arterburn (Formerly The St. Mathews Community Center) from 2 to 6 p.m.
